Use some steel wool. I recomend an SOS pad. They already have the soap in them. If you havent tried it before I know it sounds a bit crazy but it wont scratch the chrome. (just be sure to wet the thing first) This also works on very rusty chrome or damaged chrome. Give it a shot.
